Why Atlanta Homeowners Choose Lennox Air Duct Cleaning
We’re Kestrel Air Duct Atlanta, an independent Atlanta Lennox service provider serving the entire metro area. Lennox builds some of the tightest, most efficient forced-air systems on the market, but their ductwork lives in Atlanta’s humidity and pollen, and that combination creates problems no manufacturer’s brochure ever mentions. We service every Lennox configuration we encounter here, from 1990s G40 retrofits in Decatur ranches to SLP98V variable-speed systems in new builds near Ponce City Market, and we know exactly how Atlanta’s climate stresses each one.
We are not affiliated with or authorized by Lennox. We’re an independent service company, and that’s the point. We work on your Lennox system without manufacturer constraints, and we bring two decades of Atlanta-specific Lennox duct experience to every job. Call us at (470) 378-1006 and we’ll talk through what your system is doing, what it likely needs, and what it’ll cost in writing before we touch a single vent.
Why Trust Kestrel Air Duct Atlanta for Your Lennox Air Duct Cleaning?
Dale Whitmore, our owner, learned HVAC fundamentals at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending nearly twenty years doing duct work across the Southeast. He’s been servicing Atlanta homes long enough to know that a Lennox furnace is only as good as the duct system feeding it. In Buckhead colonials, Sandy Springs contemporaries, and Marietta subdivisions, we see the same thing: Lennox equipment that’s engineered to run efficiently, connected to ductwork that Atlanta’s humidity has quietly compromised.
Our technicians are background-checked and uniformed. They arrive with Rotobrush rotary brush systems to dislodge debris at the duct wall, Nikro negative-pressure units to pull contaminants out instead of pushing them around, and Abatement Technologies HEPA filtration to keep loosened particles out of your living space. Every tech follows the Kingswell Way, our on-site code: say the price, show up in the window we gave, leave the place cleaner, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails. Dale keeps a written checklist for every job and hands the homeowner a copy before he leaves. If the work is solid, there’s nothing to hide.
Clean ducts, plain talk, everything in writing.

Common Lennox Air Duct Cleaning Problems We Fix in Atlanta
- Flex duct inner liner degradation from sustained humidity. Atlanta’s summer humidity doesn’t just hang in the air outside. It works its way into attics and crawl spaces, and over time the inner liner of flex duct breaks down, shedding fiberglass particles into the supply air. You’ll notice a fine gray dust on registers near the ceiling, or a burning smell when the blower first kicks on. We inspect the entire flex run, not just the accessible ends, and replace degraded sections rather than cleaning them and calling it done.
- Leaky plenum connections on G40 and G50 retrofits pulling attic dust into the return ducts. We opened a return drop on a 1998 Lennox G40 in a Buckhead colonial and found the duct board lining peeling away in long strips, coating the blower wheel in fiberglass. This is common in Atlanta homes where attic insulation has settled or been disturbed by rodents or renovations. Loose plenum connections become a vacuum pulling in whatever’s around them. We seal the exposed insulation with mastic, rebuild compromised sections with metal duct, and run a full supply and return cleaning with HEPA vacuum. After we did that in that Buckhead home, the client’s SLP98V upgrade stopped tripping high-limit codes within a day.
- Mold growth inside return ducts from condensate drip on oversized coils. Short-cycling EL296V systems in Atlanta’s shoulder seasons, April and October especially, don’t run long enough to pull moisture off the coil. That water drips into the return plenum or the duct board beneath the unit, and mold follows. We see this regularly in Virginia-Highland bungalows and East Atlanta craftsman homes where the original ductwork was sized for a smaller, less powerful system. The fix is mold remediation, then duct sealing and insulation to stop the condensation at its source.
- Duct board separation starving SLP98V variable-speed motors. The SLP98V is a fantastic furnace, but variable-speed motors are picky about static pressure. Older Lennox installations often used duct board for the main trunk, and over years of Atlanta heat and humidity, the panels separate at the seams. Air leaks out, static pressure drops, and the motor works harder than it should, which can shorten its life and spike your electric bill. We reseal separated duct board with mastic and reinforcing tape, matching materials to Lennox’s original duct dimensions.
- Pollen and dust buildup in systems running nearly year-round. Atlanta’s pollen season runs March through May and coats everything. Our HVAC systems run most of the year, pulling in outside air and spreading pollen, dust, and mold spores through the ductwork. Lennox’s tighter filtration helps, but it doesn’t stop everything. We find accumulations of yellow-green pollen paste inside return boots and on blower wheels throughout the metro area. A full system cleaning with negative-air extraction removes it completely, not just what’s reachable at the register.
Lennox Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach
We use OEM-equivalent duct board, flex duct, mastic, and sealing tapes matched to Lennox’s original duct dimensions. For a G40 with fiberboard plenums, that means fiberboard. For a CBX32MV air handler, that means the correct gauge of sheet metal and the right mastic for high-bypass airflow. We don’t use box-store tapes or generic caulk that fail in an Atlanta attic within two summers.
Here’s how we decide repair versus replace, and we’ll show you the math either way. If a flex duct section is torn, mold-saturated, or the inner liner is degrading, cleaning it won’t fix it. You’d be paying to clean something that’s already failed. We price new materials honestly against band-aid repairs, and we’ll tell you when a repair makes sense and when you’re throwing money at a duct that’ll fail again in eighteen months. On rusted or mold-saturated sections, replacement is usually the cheaper option over three years. Call (470) 378-1006 and we’ll give you a written price for either path before we start work.
Our Lennox Service Process – Step by Step
- 1
System diagnosis. We start with a visual inspection of the air handler, blower, and accessible ductwork. For Lennox systems, that means checking plenum connections, flex duct condition, and any signs of the failures above. We run a video inspection camera through supply and return lines so you see what we see.
- 2
Cleaning and repair. Full system cleaning with Rotobrush brush agitation and Nikro negative-air extraction. If we find separated duct board, torn flex, or mold, we address it with sealing, mastic, or replacement in the same visit. We keep common Lennox duct materials stocked locally for fast turnaround.
- 3
System testing. After cleaning and repair, we check static pressure and airflow through the supply and return. For variable-speed units like the SLP98V and EL296V, we verify the blower isn’t fighting restricted airflow. We also run the system through a heat cycle if it’s a furnace, confirming no high-limit trips or odd noises.
- 4
Documentation and guarantee. You get a written report of what we found, what we did, and before-and-after photos of your actual ducts. Every job carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if the work fails within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. If a repair fails, the second visit is free, also in writing.

AfterLennox Products We Service & Install in Atlanta
We work on Lennox G40 and G50 series forced-air furnaces found throughout Atlanta’s 1970s-2000s suburban housing stock in Marietta and Gwinnett, plus Lennox repair in Smyrna, along with modern SLP98V variable-capacity and EL296V high-efficiency two-stage furnaces in newer builds. We also service Lennox CBX32MV variable-speed air handlers, common in attic installations across the metro area. Our stock includes duct board, flex duct in standard Lennox diameters, mastic, sealing tapes, and return/supply grilles. If a component isn’t on the truck, we source it locally, usually same-day.
We Also Service These Brands
While this page focuses on Lennox, our crew works across all major brands. We service Trane and Carrier duct systems with the same attention to sealed airflow and static pressure. Atlanta’s climate stresses every brand’s ductwork differently, and we’ve seen enough of all three to know what’s failing and why.
FAQs – Lennox Air Duct Cleaning Service in Atlanta
No. We are an independent Lennox service provider, not a factory-authorized dealer or warranty station. That independence means we recommend the right fix for your duct problem, not the fix Lennox’s warranty department prefers. Your Lennox equipment warranty remains intact regardless of who cleans your ducts, and we document everything we do in writing.
For duct work, genuine Lennox parts aren’t a meaningful category. Lennox doesn’t sell branded duct board or flex duct. We use OEM-equivalent materials matched to your system’s original duct dimensions and specifications. For anything connected to the furnace itself, we use manufacturer-approved or OEM-equivalent components. We’ll tell you exactly what we’re installing and why before we start.
Our Air Duct Cleaning services for a typical Atlanta home take four to six hours, not the 90 minutes you’ll see advertised by some companies. That includes sealing off supply and return registers, running a full negative-air extraction, brushing the main trunk lines and branches, and cleaning the blower and coil if needed. If we find damaged flex duct or separated duct board, that adds time. We’ll give you a time window before we arrive and stick to it.
We service duct systems on Lennox G40 and G50 forced-air furnaces, SLP98V variable-capacity gas furnaces, EL296V high-efficiency two-stage furnaces, and CBX32MV variable-speed air handlers. If you have a different Lennox model, call (470) 378-1006 and we’ll tell you what we can do over the phone.
No. Routine duct cleaning, done properly, does not void any Lennox manufacturer’s warranty. What voids warranties are unauthorized modifications to the furnace itself, improper parts, or damage caused by negligent service. We don’t touch furnace internals beyond cleaning the blower wheel and evaporator coil, both standard maintenance. Every job is documented, which actually helps if you ever need a warranty claim.
For most Atlanta homes with a Lennox system, full system duct cleaning runs between $450 and $750 depending on square footage, number of supply runs, and accessibility. Homes with multiple Lennox units or extensive flex duct damage fall outside that range, and we’ll give you a written price before we start. No inspection fees, no door-step revisions. Call (470) 378-1006 for an exact quote, free of charge.
